Lyrics
[Verse 1]
She said, "Hey baby, you might want to get up soon."
Did you know it's almost in the afternoon?
Don't you have an interview with that corporate guy?
All right, I remember now I'd better move on real quick.
Gotta shave and shower and all that morning shit.
I haven't been to work in so very long,
Then it all comes back to me just like an ugly song.
[Chorus]
Well, I'm stuck to a nine-to-five with all the traffic and some crap.
Get a guy in back of me blaring hip-hop, maybe rap.
Then I shift to exit that I'm trying to get to,
But some lady cuts me off, flips the bird and says, "Go screw!"
Guess I'm getting older, this shit really bothers me.
It's nice to be much younger when you're wild and worry-free.
You never fit into the working world mentality,
And I keep missing all the exits to Normal Street.
[Bridge]
So I get off the exit to find this place where they pay.
It's just a job to me that often gets in the way.
Meet the man for this interview, he said,
"You're a little late, my son, it started just about to."
Well, he started asking questions about who I am and what I do.
I start to lose my focus when he got to question two.
There was only one thing on my mind at that point in time:
Does this place have a cafeteria 'cause the breakfast smells fine?
[Chorus]
Guess I'm getting older, this shit really bothers me.
It's nice to be much younger when you're wild and worry-free.
You never fit into the working world mentality,
And I keep missing all the exits to Normal Street.
[Outro]
Exits...
Do you want cheese?
Do you want...
Is this to go?
Exit Normal Street.
